10 Things I've Done (That I Bet You Haven't...)

So, day 2 of the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog challenge, and so far so good. Today's challenge is to create a list post. I've done these before, and they're usually tips on design or business, but I wanted to make today's list post a TON of fun.

So, here we go - the Ten Things I've Done (That I Bet You Haven't):

10. Started a Business: A lot of you have probably done this, but hey, it's something I'm proud of!
9.   Given a Cat a Bath: Okay, so maybe if you have a cat, you've done this too. But, if you have a cat, you also know this is something you totally shouldn't do!
8.   Shook Hands with the President: In high school, I was at a convention and shook President Bill Clinton's hand. And then proceeded to wash them.
7.   Interviewed for a Reality Show: Yeah, I did, for real. Back in college I thought it would be cool to be on the Real World or Road Rules. So glad I dodged that bullet!
6.   Been to China: Yep. For 2 weeks. And all I ate was white rice and Oreos. Best. Diet. Ever.
5.   Sung on Stage with Someone Famous/Got on YouTube: This was the funnest Vegas trip ever. And, he's a very nice guy! (Kris Allen) If you don't believe me, watch the YouTube video. :)
4.   Hosted an Exchange Student: This was probably one of the highlights of my past few years - what a blessing to show someone else around our nation.
3.   Been Skydiving: Totally the time of my life, and if you haven't done it, you SOOO need to. It was my way of letting go of my infertility struggles and giving it to God.
2.   Gone White-Water Rafting: I did this one summer when I was nannying in CO, and although I fell out of the raft twice and was throwing up water all the rest of the day and would never do it again, I do have to admit it was fun. ;)
1.   Been Struck by Lightning: Uh, yeah, if you made it all the way through this post, you deserve to know about #1. And, if you have too, I SOOO want to know! Do tell!

So, I'd love to know what you've done that's on this list - come on, prove me wrong!

  1. Hello! Was directed here via BlogFrig SITS girls community :)

I am most fascinated by #1! I've never met anyone that's been struck by lightening. I'm curious about the details. I thought that was something that people didn't make it through. You're a survivor and I am super curious!

One thing I have in common is that I am on YouTube! My partner proposed to me at a Matthew Good show on stage, and some random audience member captured it on his digital camera! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V85q4FRcmPo

  4. You've got me beat. Well..I started a business, if Mary Kay/Avon count. That white rice/Oreo diet sounds like a winner. LOL!

  5. Cute post. I have bathed my cat, but I think that is about it. I am still trying to decide if my blog is a business or a hobby!

  6. Ok you are a crazy lady. You are right. I don't think I've done many of those things. I did however start a business and I've been to Japan (which is not China) but it's in Asia. Does that count? I on the other hand ate like a king while we were there. I love Japanese food, but here's a shocker...it's probably because I am half Japanese and grew up eating the stuff. :)

  7. Thats a great list! I wouldnt want to give a cat a bath though that would be scary I bet. I also would never jump out of a plane! I am to chicken to try that!

  8. Haha! I stopped by to thank you for commenting on the Summer Blog Tour today and then I saw your very unique posting.

I have done some different things like a hot air balloon ride that ended with all of us dragged on the basket side and met with a rifle by a landowner. I was just the paying passenger!

And I did wash a cat with liquid flea soap, but before I could rinse off everything the cat raced off into the woods. When he came back, he was in pain from the soap chemicals burning his skin. He let me put him into the shower, shut the glass door and just sit under the showerhead. After a vet visit, he recovered and still loved me.

Just wanted to say from the Tour:

Angela, I plan on more children's resources. I'm working on getting the songs that are already written for the first book, "The Flight of Orville Wright Caterpillar", into downloadable form. Thanks for the compliments!

  10. Great list post. I'm with you on 10, 9, and 8. I don't think the rest of my list would be that interesting!

  11. Holy Cow...you really washed a cat? That's almost more impressive than the lightning strike.

    Almost.

What a great fun list! You have certainly had the experiences and I hope to see a blog post dedicated to each one of them and go more in detail.
You have a wonderful sense of humor that shines through your writing and I am so grateful you sent me your link tonight!

  12. Thanks Ladies! I love that you are sharing what you've experienced with me too! This is a great way to get to know each other. :)

And, yes, I washed a cat - I've washed all three of them. One broke my necklace, I have been scratched to the max, etc. But, soemtimes, it has to be done (long haired kitties). :)

  13. I've done both 9 and 10! I had a jewelry business for a while until I had my daughter and no time to sit and play with tiny shiny objects. Besides, infants really like tiny bright rolling objects... too much.

Before we found a new home for our cat, either my husband or I bathed him weekly. I have massive cat allergies, and he actually got used to it. We always trimmed his claws super short first though.

Thanks for stopping by my place, and I have no choice but to follow you after the whole lightning strike thing!

  14. Our family hosted an exchange student when I was in junior high. She was awesome and when I was studying in Spain, I looked up her phone number and LOVED chatting with her again! I just wish I could find her on Facebook .....

  15. Wow! You have done some amazing things! The only thing I've done out of your list of 10 is start my own business - "Little Details" where I did kids' party planning, handmade invites, and decor.
The next closest I would have would be my 3 week trip to Denmark & Germany.
Love the skydiving that you did! How awesome!:)
